Great books deserve great readers
Thank you for reading the Thomas Scoundrel series. Marketing the book really is something of a David vs. Goliath story when it comes to our ability to go toe-to-toe with the giants of the publishing world, but we are up to the task. They may have the deep pockets, but we are building a loyal audience of readers who tell us they want to come along on all of Colonel Scoundrel’s upcoming adventures. There isn’t a book marketing budget in the world big enough to buy that kind of loyalty.
Of course, in order for us to build that audience we have to rely upon our readers to spread the news. Positive word of mouth has always been the best advertising a book can have, and so we are asking people who enjoyed the read to consider becoming a part of the Scoundrel Brigade. The compensation ain’t much (although you will get a personal holiday card from the Colonel, along with other special gifts listed below), but we hope that the appreciation you get from friends for passing along a rip-roaring read will help to make your efforts worthwhile. Specifically, we are asking for people who enjoyed Scoundrel to consider helping out with one of the following:
• E-mail, call (or stop folks in the hall, if that works best) to tell people how much they enjoyed the book.
• Post a review on AMAZON via this LINK. Even a single sentence is helpful.
• Buy books as gifts. (Purchases can be made online, or, we can provide author-signed copies). 25% case purchase discounts (20 books) are available for both paperback and hardcover books. Plus, we can handle mail fulfillment for gift books they want to share.
• Donate copies to the local library, VA Hospital, etc.
• Recommend Scoundrel in the Thick and Passage to Moorea to a book club. Author B.R. O’Hagan is happy to do ZOOM chats with book club members to answer their questions, as well. Readers really enjoy that experience.
